Do not take Theo-Dur no Prescription with any of the following drugs:
- Adenosine;
- Allopurinol;
- Aminoglutethimide;
- Caffeine;
- Cimetidine;
- Disulfiram;
- Ephedrine;
- Fluvoxamine;
- Interferon;
- Isoproterenol;
- Lithium;
- Drugs for anxiety or sleep;
- Drugs for colds and breathing difficulties;
- Methotrexate;
- Pentoxifylline;
- Some antibiotics or anti infectives;
- Some drugs for irregular heart rhythms;
- Some drugs for treating seizures;
- Some drugs indicated during surgery;
- Sulfinpyrazone;

What is a recommended dosage of Theo-Dur no Prescription?
ADULTS
Theo-Dur, Nuelin Sr, Theochron, Theophylline, Uniphyl, Theobid, Theoday Extended Release Tablets
The usual initial dose is 1 Theo-Dur, Nuelin Sr, Theochron, Theophylline, Uniphyl, Theobid, Theoday 150-mg tablet every 12 hours. If this is not effective, your doctor will gradually increase the dose until you respond, up to a maximum of 600 mg per day. Once you have adjusted to the medication, your doctor may be able to put you on a once-a-day dose schedule.
Theo-Dur, Nuelin Sr, Theochron, Theophylline, Uniphyl, Theobid, Theoday Sprinkle
The usual initial dose is no more than 200 mg every 12 hours. If this is not effective, your doctor will gradually increase the dose until you respond, up to a maximum of 900 mg per day. If a dose every 12 hours is inconvenient, your doctor may divide the daily total into 3 small doses taken every 8 hours.
CHILDREN AGED 6 to 16

Maximum regular daily dosages are calculated by body weight as follows.
Less than 99 pounds--20 mg per 2.2 pounds up to a maximum of 600 mg

For children under 55 pounds, a liquid preparation is recommended to establish proper dosage before switching to Theo-Dur, Nuelin Sr, Theochron, Theophylline, Uniphyl, Theobid, Theoday Sprinkle. Maximum regular daily dosages are calculated by body weight as follows:
Children 6 through 8--24 mg per 2.2 pounds
Children 9 through 11--20 mg per 2.2 pounds
Children 12 through 15--18 mg per 2.2 pounds
OLDER ADULTS
Older adults are more likely than younger people to be seriously affected by Theo-Dur, Nuelin Sr, Theochron, Theophylline, Uniphyl, Theobid, Theoday. Anyone over age 60 should not take more than 400 mg a day except in special circumstances.
